
Wilfried Rauws
Start career
He started his professional career as a teaching assistant at the University of Antwerp, where he received his doctorate in law on Civil Termination of Employment Contract with highest distinction in 1986.
Senior lecturer and professor
He was a lawyer at the Antwerp Bar from 1986 to 2001 in the office of the late Stafhouder Jos Van Goethem. He then began his academic career, successively as senior lecturer, professor and full professor of labor law at Vrije Universiteit Brussel until September 2021. He served part-time as senior lecturer at Maastricht University until 2020 and dean of the Faculty of Law and Criminology at Free University of Brussels from 2014 to 2018.
He was a deputy judge at the Labor Court of Appeal in Antwerp. He is currently a deputy judge at the Antwerp Court of Appeal, the Belgian member of the European Labor Law Network and editor-in-chief of the Rechtskundig Weekblad.
